13 Portable Air Conditioners & Coolers You Can Get 'Cause Sometimes Fans Just Ain't Enough

If the humidity is getting to you, you could consider getting a portable air conditioner (AC) or air cooler. Though it generally helps, it's still dependant on the type of air cooler/portable air conditioner you get, how often you use it, and what temperature you set it on most often.

Contrary to their name, portable ACs do not typically blow cold air like regular air conditioners do. But if you're rajin enough to top up with ice cubes or cold water, some of them are meant to help reduce your electricity bill while providing "cooler" air. Another benefit of getting one would be if you don't want to install an AC in every single room. 

In saying that, keep in mind that portable ACs usually cool down one room or a specific area, and not an entire house. Some portable ACs also require a window nearby for its exhaust hose to exit.
