Sunway Celebrates Big 50th Anniversary, Bringing In RM50 Million At Nationwide Roadshow

Their Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow attracted over 200,000 visitors.

Sunway recently marked their 50th anniversary with a spectacular nationwide celebration, which culminated in their Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow

Happening over the course of two weeks, the roadshow captivated audiences across Selangor, Penang, Perak, and Johor, drawing more than 200,000 patrons eager to be part of the festivities.

The roadshow was a jubilant celebration of Sunway's remarkable journey and steadfast commitment to excellence. The event featured family-friendly entertainment, limited-time offers, and exciting prizes, making it a hit among visitors.

Evan Cheah, Group CEO of Digital & Strategic Investments, Sunway Group, expressed his delight at the overwhelming support, saying, "We are pleased with the overwhelming support for our Sunway Golden Jubilee Mega Roadshow, which generated close to RM50 million in sales revenue. This reaffirms Sunway's status as a globally trusted brand with a strong and reputable presence."

One of the highlights of the event was the Sunway Super App, which gained 28,000 new users and over RM6 million in transactions within the two-week span

The app offers users products and services across Sunway's business divisions, which include Sunway Theme Parks, Sunway Malls, Sunway Property, Sunway Hospitality and Resorts, and Sunway Healthcare Group.

With the app, users can also gain access to more than 1,500 of Sunway's existing business partners and retail merchants.

But Sunway's celebrations go beyond sales figures!

As part of their commitment to giving back to society, Sunway has embarked on several corporate social responsibility initiatives.

During Ramadan, Sunway collaborated with various non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, Yayasan Raja Zarith Sofiah Negeri Johor (YRZSNJ), Selangor Youth Community (SAY), Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRC) and Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN), to bring its #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan initiative to underserved communities throughout Malaysia.

Looking ahead, Sunway has planned the Sunway – RapidKL Good Run 2024, a running and fundraising event where all proceeds will be distributed to five charity homes nationwide. They are also committed to packing over 500,000 meals at their annual Meal Pack-a-Thon drive in September 2024, which will contribute to their goal of packing two million meals this year.

These initiatives, under the #SunwayforGood umbrella, aim to promote sustainability efforts and social inclusion through education, healthcare, and community enrichment.

Sunway's commitment to social good is truly commendable, making their 50th anniversary celebrations not just a milestone for the company, but a celebration of its values and dedication to making a difference in the world.
