Whether you have a faulty blender, a non-working zip, or any other broken item, this space in Singapore may help repair it

Candice, who goes by @candi.licious on TikTok, shared a video of her visiting Repair Kopitiam, a community of people who host events to teach individuals how to fix their non-working items for free.

She brought her broken iron and blender, and both were fixed within the day!

Repair Kopitiam is a community repair meetup that takes place every last Sunday of the month, from 10am to 4pm, at various locations across Singapore

These repair gatherings aim to challenge the 'Buy and Throw Away' culture, promoting repair and reuse with their tagline 'Love your barang, fix your barang'.

From malfunctioning electronics to torn clothes and damaged furniture, Repair Kopitiam has designated areas where dedicated volunteer repair coaches are available to assist you in fixing your items.

You can learn to fix items in three categories: electronics, fabric, and mechanical.

Whether you have a faulty oven, a shaky stool, or a broken sewing machine, there will be someone to guide you in mending it.

The coaches will first help you diagnose the issue with your item.

"If the problem falls within their repair capabilities, they will be able to guide you to fixing your item(s). In some cases, if certain parts are unavailable, you might need to purchase them to complete the repair," explained Repair Kopitiam.
