The PENJANA Plan Has Slashed Car Prices By Up To RM49K. Here Are 12 Brands To Check Out
The sales tax reduction on passenger vehicles is introduced under the Economic Recovery Plan, called PENJANA.

On 5 June, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin introduced the RM35 billion Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi Negara (PENJANA), which includes sales tax reduction on passenger cars
In the special briefing, he announced that Putrajaya will waive the 10% sales tax imposed on complete knock down (CKD) passenger vehicles, or locally assembled cars, while the sales tax on completely built-up (CBU) passenger vehicles, or imported cars, will be halved to 5%.
The sales tax reduction on passenger cars will start from 15 June 2020 to 31 December 2020.
The initiative is aimed to empower citizens as well as propel businesses following the aftermath of the Movement Control Order (MCO), which was enforced to curb the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
A week after the announcement, various vehicle brands released new prices of their products to reflect the tax exemption initiative
To help you get a grasp on the current market, SAYS has compiled a list of some popular car brands and models updated with their latest prices.
