Calling all photography enthusiasts, Tourism Malaysia wants you to get creative and showcase Malaysia through your lens! :D

From now until 11 February 2022, you can join their 'Photo Challenge 2021' for a chance to win up to RM80,000 worth of holiday packages and photography equipment

The two-month long competition is open to Malaysians aged 18 and above. There will be four categories that you can take part in, with six winners to be chosen for each category (1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and three consolation prizes).

Here's a closer look at each category:

1. Extreme Shot
Capture interesting action and subjects from unique, creative, and unusual photography angles.

2. Nature, Arts & Culture
All about the unique arts, cultures, and the multicultural Malaysian society. Explore the outdoors and get the best shots of Malaysia's scenery.

3. Human Interest
What can you highlight about the daily activities of Malaysians? Ordinary activities that have extraordinary meaning and value!

4. Past & Present
It's throwback time! Share two 'then & now' photos. Contestants can share images related to lifestyle, childhood, education, buildings, landscapes, or any element that evokes the nostalgia of an era gone by.

According to Tourism Malaysia Director-General Datuk Zainuddin Abdul Wahab, the competition is free of charge and participants can use any type of camera to capture their preferred images

Zainuddin expects an encouraging participation rate, especially with the long competition duration, which is meant to give photography enthusiasts more opportunities to explore tourism destinations around the country.

"The art of photography goes hand-in-hand with the tourism sector. Thus, we're able to encourage members of the public to go for a vacation and enjoy their holidays in Malaysia via interesting images shot by the best.

"In addition, this competition aims to unearth photography talent among Malaysians, while instilling creativity and a sense of love for the country," he said.
