If you're a car enthusiast, you've probably heard of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Challenge, which is returning for the second round of its sixth season

Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) first hit the streets of Malaysia in August 2017, highlighted by its Vios Challenge race. From Kuala Lumpur and Johor to Penang, Kuala Terengganu, and more, the highly-anticipated street racing event is made up of 28 races across Peninsular Malaysia.

For the past five seasons, TGR has been bringing the spectacle of motor racing to fans through exciting carnivals, both on-site and online, as it embodies Toyota's commitment in pushing the limits of its cars on the race track. The end goal? So that it is able to make even better cars for everyday users on the road.

Taking place at Sepang International Circuit this June, the upcoming event will feature four classes of racing

Watch this video for a glimpse of what season six entails:

Dubbed the drivers race, the Vios Challenge features a unique and strict format of a one-make race.

What this means is that every racer will drive an identical race machine, in this case, modified Toyota Vios racing cars. Each racer's skill will essentially be put to the test, since the only differentiator surrounding the race will be the driver behind the wheel.

Since this is a night race, drivers will need to take into account factors such as temperature and visibility while on the track. Viewers at home, on the other hand, will be able to see the glowing brake lights more clearly when it is a night race.

Round two of season six will continue as a closed event, which fans can catch through livestreams on 3 and 4 June on Toyota Gazoo Racing's social media pages

You'll be able to watch your favourite drivers go head-to-head as they put the pedal to the metal through nine turns and five straights on the North Track of Sepang International Circuit, measuring a length of 2,706km.

Plus, there will be special performances by local celebs, including the likes of Khai Bahar and Janna Nick!

With the intention of making competitive street racing a more accessible sport, the Vios Challenge is divided into four classes of racing:

1. Promotional Class for local celebrities
2. Super Sporting Class for elite and professional drivers
3. Sporting Class for amateur and gentlemen drivers
4. Rookie Class for budding young talents

The Vios Challenge is also considered the most lucrative motorsport event in the country, which will see drivers compete for their share of more than half a million ringgit in prize money, including RM70,000 and RM50,000 for the overall champion of the Super Sporting and Sporting Class champions respectively.

Want to feel the rush of adrenaline as you cheer for your favourite racers? The upcoming Toyota Gazoo Race will not disappoint.
