Form 4 & Form 5 Students! Join This Fun Retreat That Promotes Diversity For Free
Enjoy all kinds of fun activities, while mingling with peers from different backgrounds and making new friendships to last a lifetime!
In a diverse country like Malaysia, it's important to know how to embrace differences and live harmoniously with people of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Sekolah Diversiti is a programme that aims to teach young Malaysians how to do just that.
Through an interactive retreat filled with workshops, discussions, and reflections, the programme aims to cultivate cross-cultural understanding among youth, in the hopes that they will become equipped leaders who will foster inclusivity in their communities.
The fun five-day retreat will be held in the quiet, tranquil nature of Al-Sakinah Resort, Janda Baik, Pahang from 28 August to 1 September.
Participants can look forward to enjoying all kinds of fun activities, while mingling with peers from different backgrounds and making new friendships to last a lifetime
Through games, sharing sessions, and reflections, participants will explore topics related to identity, diversity, and inclusion.
These topics include:
- Identity & Diversity: Dive deep into how a person's position in society affects their lives
- Conflict & Inclusion: Explore constructive and peaceful ways to handle conflict through democratic inclusion
- Digital Civility: Gain cognitive and social tools to engage positively on social media platforms
Sekolah Diversiti will be conducted in both English and Malay.
By the end of the programme, participants are expected to start their own capstone project as a continued exploration and appreciation of diversity and how it manifests in various communities across Malaysia. The projects will be focused on understanding how diversity has manifested in their local school, neighbourhood, or town.
The best part is that Sekolah Diversiti is completely free!
Accommodation, food, and transportation costs to the venue are all covered.
For participants travelling within Peninsular Malaysia, transport is provided from KL Sentral to the venue. Travelling costs to KL Sentral will not be covered, but participants who require assistance may apply for a travel stipend.
As for participants travelling from Sabah and Sarawak, airfare expenses will be covered, with flight arrangements to be made by the organiser.
