In a short video shared by Instagram user @sisbro.cuba, the creator can be seen running through the waves with her family as each step illuminated the water with a mesmerising electric-blue glow.
The breathtaking sight caught the attention of many online users, including Tourism Pahang, which reposted the video on its official Facebook page
"Have you ever witnessed a glowing ocean at night? The mesmerising phenomenon of bioluminescence has now been reported near Pantai Tembeling, Kuantan," it wrote.
Tourism Pahang also reminded visitors who encounter the phenomenon to appreciate the natural wonder responsibly by keeping the beach clean and protecting the surrounding ecosystem.

This causes the water to glow with a striking blue hue, especially at night. The phenomenon is also commonly known as the "blue tears".
According to travel platform Klook, bioluminescent waters can be spotted at several locations in Malaysia, including the Selangor River estuary in Kuala Selangor, Tusan Beach in Miri, Sarawak, as well as Pulau Sembilan and Bagan Datuk in Perak and Langkawi.
However, sightings of the glowing waters are not guaranteed, as they depend on environmental conditions, including lunar cycles, tides, and water conditions.
For the best chance of witnessing the "blue tears" phenomenon, visitors are advised to look out for dark, moonless nights during high tide.
