Ombak KLCC, Kuala Lumpur's newest lifestyle destination, is set to officially open its doors on 21 August 2026
Spanning seven floors, the new centre will feature around 120 retail spaces.
The mall is roughly a 10-minute walk from the PETRONAS Twin Towers and offers direct underground access to the Persiaran KLCC MRT station (Putrajaya Line), which is just two minutes away.
It is also connected to the surrounding area via covered pedestrian links from KLCC Park and Suria KLCC.
Here is what you can expect to find inside the new mall:
1. Malaysia's first Pokémon Center pop-up is coming
Okay, this is probably the biggest reason Pokémon fans will want to keep Ombak KLCC on their radar.
Malaysia is getting its first official Pokémon Center pop-up store, alongside the country's first official Nintendo Pop-Up Store.
However, neither will be open on launch day.
Both stores will open at Ombak KLCC from 12 September to 31 December 2026 as part of Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebrations.
The Pokémon Center pop-up will stock official Pokémon merchandise, including plushies, trading cards, and special 30th anniversary items.
Meanwhile, the Nintendo pop-up will feature Nintendo games and character merchandise, including exclusive items.
2. Galeri PETRONAS will have a new home here
Ombak KLCC is also leaning heavily into art and culture, with Galeri PETRONAS among the major attractions at the mall.
The gallery will give visitors another reason to drop by even if shopping isn't really on the agenda.
The mall itself is designed around bringing together art, culture, retail, and green spaces, rather than being purely about stores.
3. There'll be a CAMP5 for active people
The climbing and active lifestyle brand is set to bring its fitness and climbing experiences into the mall, adding something a little different to the usual mix of shops and restaurants.
4. Plenty of familiar retail names will be moving in
Among the brands expected at Ombak KLCC are adidas, ASICS Run KL, Skechers, Flipper, Ariani, TudungRuffle, Milolo, Wah Chan, and more.
Tech shoppers can also look forward to Samsung, Xiaomi, and Garmin, while 7-Eleven, CU, and myNEWS will cover some of those everyday convenience runs.
There'll also be salons, barbers, optical shops and a pharmacy, including Jadioc Barbershop and Alpro Sugi.
5. The F&B lineup is pretty stacked too
There will be bakeries Verrona Hills and Rotiboy, while South African fast-food chains Steers and Debonairs Pizza are also expected to open here.
There'll also be burger spots such as Decker's and Sōfte, along with Japanese restaurants and popular local and regional food and drink brands.
For something more familiar, you can expect names such as NakNak, ZUS Signature, Kenangan Coffee, Inside Scoop, Subway, Juice Works, and Milk & Barley.
And for dessert or drinks, there'll be options including Patchouli Patisserie, Tutti Frutti, Ningji Lemon Tea, Haytea, Beutea, and Bubee.
6. There'll also be Urban Marketplace for your groceries
That makes sense given its location, with the mall surrounded by offices, residences, and other developments in the KLCC area.
The developer says more than 110,000 office workers are nearby, while around 15,000 residents live in the surrounding area.
7. There will be a rooftop Sky Garden
Ombak KLCC has seven floors, with the rooftop designed as an open-air space where visitors can hang out and take in views of the surrounding city.
There are also plans for spaces dedicated to events and community activities, so don't be surprised if the mall becomes another spot for pop-ups, performances, and exhibitions in KL.
In fact, the mall already has events lined up, including Pesta Kopi Merdeka from 29 to 31 August, just in time for the Hari Kebangsaan celebrations.
