1. Experience the magic of Studio Ghibli performed live by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra
Studio Ghibli fans are in for a treat as the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) returns with Symphonic Ghibli II, a special concert series celebrating the timeless music of legendary Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi.
Running across nine performances from 2 to 12 July at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, the concerts will be conducted by Gerard Salonga and feature orchestral suites from beloved films including Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away.
Tickets start from RM199, while MyKad holders can enjoy a 10% discount.
Visitors should also note that Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS maintains a smart-casual dress code, meaning ripped jeans and flip-flops are not permitted.
2. Spend an intimate evening with bossa nova legend Lisa Ono
Fans of jazz, acoustic music and bossa nova can catch internationally renowned singer Lisa Ono during her one-night-only LOVE TO LOVE concert tonight, 3 July.
Known for blending Brazilian bossa nova with jazz and pop influences, Ono's concerts have long attracted audiences looking for a more relaxed, intimate live music experience.
3. Explore the latest home renovation ideas at HOMEs 2026
Thinking about renovating your home or upgrading your appliances?
HOMEs 2026 returns to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 9 to 12 July, bringing together interior design brands, renovation specialists, furniture exhibitors and smart home technology under one roof.
The expo also arrives at a timely moment for homeowners planning to take advantage of Malaysia's newly introduced NUR@PETRA RM200 rebate for selected energy-efficient air conditioners and refrigerators.
4. Coffee lovers can watch Malaysia's best baristas compete live
Coffee enthusiasts won't want to miss the Malaysia Café Expo 2026, happening from 15 to 17 July at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Besides showcasing the latest café equipment, speciality coffee beans, beverage innovations and food technology, the event also hosts the Malaysia National Coffee Championship (MNCC).

One of indie music's most anticipated concerts this year arrives on 20 July, when Mitski performs at Zepp Kuala Lumpur as part of her Nothing's About to Happen to Me Tour.
Widely recognised for emotionally charged songwriting and visually theatrical performances, Mitski's shows regularly sell out around the world and have become must-see events within the indie music community.
7. FTISLAND returns with a full live band concert
Veteran South Korean rock band FTISLAND will perform in Kuala Lumpur on 25 July as part of their 0-XIX-III 'FaTe' Tour.
Known for their live instrumentation and energetic performances, the group continues to enjoy a loyal Malaysian fanbase more than a decade after first rising to prominence during the early years of the Korean Wave.
