Kedah authorities are rolling out new plans to make sure students stay safe. From police patrols to internet safety lessons, here is how they are protecting the younger generation.
More police patrols at schools
To stop bullying and other discipline problems, the Kedah police force sent 30 patrol cars to selected schools across the state in October 2025 .
Kedah police chief Datuk Adzly Abu Shah said these patrols, which usually happen in the evenings, are meant to keep things calm. By having police visible on the ground, they hope to discourage troublemakers and help students feel more secure.
Parents, it's time to team up
The police aren't doing this alone. They are asking for help from parents and the community to keep an eye on students.
Authorities are urging parents to be more involved in their children's lives, especially by knowing where they are at night . With the support of the State Education Department, they hope that if everyone in the neighbourhood looks out for one another, kids will be safer even after the school bell rings.
Staying safe online
Safety isn't just about the physical world—it's about the digital one, too. Schools in Kedah are now focusing on teaching students how to be smart online.
For example, students at SK Lamdin took part in a "Safe Internet Campaign" back in August 2025 . These lessons help students understand the risks of the internet so they can browse and chat more safely.
