Formerly a passenger ferry decommissioned in 2020, the Pulau Rimau vessel has been refurbished into a stylish restaurant, offering Muslim-friendly international cuisine over a panoramic view of the sea.

Moored over the scenic Queensbay Waterfront, Captain Morgan Kitchen & Bar held a soft launch on 11 November for visitors to check out the restaurant.

Accessible via an blue bridge from the waterfront, this three-storey ferry boasts a capacity of 740 diners

According to Guangming Daily, the restaurant is divided into two distinct sections: Captain Morgan and Marina De Captain.

The ground and second floors house the Captain Morgan kitchen and dining area, serving a diverse menu featuring everything from grilled seafood and prime cuts of meat to pasta dishes and vegetarian options.

Go all the way to the third floor to find Marina De Captain, with a seating capacity of 220 seats and an adjoining rooftop bar, so you can soak in the gentle sea breeze over some refreshments.

Some of the waiters can be seen sporting charming sailor uniforms and hats,  adding to the cruise-like atmosphere.

At night, the ferry restaurant is illuminated with vibrant lights, making the ocean blue hull and yellow window frames even more eye-catching.

Since the ferry restaurant has an approved load capacity, it is currently only accepting dining customers for safety reasons

Non-dining tourists cannot board the ship, but they are welcome to take photos and enjoy the scenery of the ferry from outside.

There is currently no official announcement on the restaurant's opening date, but Guangming Daily reports that the restaurant will be open all year round fom 4.30pm to 12pm, while the sky bar will operate until 2am.
