A 14-year-old student was arrested after allegedly injuring a male classmate with a 10cm kerambit at a secondary school in Shah Alam last week

According to Malay Mail, Shah Alam district police chief ACP Sarudin Samah confirmed the incident today, 11 August, saying it occurred at around 11.42am last Wednesday, 5 August.

According to Sarudin, the female student allegedly brought the kerambit to school and used it to injure her classmate.

"The incident involved a female student as the suspect, while the victim was a male student. Both are classmates," he said in a statement today.

Sarudin said the victim sustained minor injuries to his arm

He added that the suspect was arrested following the incident and has since been released on police bail.

"No apparent reason or motive has been established in this case, and the suspect is believed to be unwell," he said, reported Astro Awani.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a dangerous weapon.
