A 15-year-old teen from Muar, Johor, only realised after an anti-crime awareness lecture at her school that a bomoh (shaman) had previously sexually assaulted her

According to New Straits Times, Muar police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said that the alleged incident occurred between November 2022 and April this year.

The victim lodged a police report last Friday, 27 October, upon discovering she was pregnant following a sexual assault by the 50-year-old perpetrator.

Even though she had not menstruated for some time, the girl only learned that she had been sexually assaulted during the anti-crime awareness talk at her school in September.

Raiz said the victim's family had initially consulted the bomoh because they believed the whole family had fallen ill due to a spell

He stated that the alleged assault occurred during the treatment to cure the 'spell'.

Raiz added that the case is being investigated under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code.
