Police Finds 158KG Of Ketum Leaves While Helping Victims Of Car Crash In Kelantan
The ketum leaves were worth more than RM4,000.

An accident involving two vehicles on kilometre 74 of Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai, Kelantan, recently exposed one of the drivers' illegal practice of smuggling ketum leaves
At around 1.30pm yesterday, 6 December, police discovered 158kg of ketum leaves worth more than RM4,000 in the boot of a Toyota Vios, reported Harian Metro.
According to Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo, the accident occurred when a Toyota Vios driven by a 24-year-old man from Kuala Krai lost control and entered the opposite lane.
"As a result, the car crashed with a 34-year-old man driving a Honda City," he said.
The two drivers suffered injuries in the crash
While the driver of the Toyota Vios was critically injured in the accident, with head, chest, and leg injuries, the driver of the Honda City suffered a broken right arm.
Both victims were taken to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai to receive medical treatment.
"We also found 158kg of ketum leaves wrapped in plastic, in the boot of the Toyota Vios," said Choon Foo.
The case is currently being investigated in accordance with Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952.
