16 Stations Shut Down As Kelana Jaya LRT Line Disrupted For 2nd Time This Week

Rapid KL attributed the disruption to technical difficulties.

The Light Rail Transit (LRT) service along the Kelana Jaya line has halted its trains for the second time in a week today, 8 November

According to an announcement made by Rapid KL at 4pm on Twitter, 16 stations, from KLCC station to Kelana Jaya station, were affected due to the disruption.

The company has attributed this disruption to technical difficulties. 

Train commuters were advised to look for other modes of transport in order to get to their destination.

A few minutes later, Rapid KL announced that LRT trains following other routes were still in service

Train passengers were informed that they can travel from Gombak station to Damai station, as well as from Ara Damansara station to Putra Heights station.

Amidst the disruption, Rapid KL later informed passengers that free shuttle buses would be provided at Lembah Subang station to Pasar Seni station, and at Masjid Jamek station to Damai station.

No other explanation has been given by Rapid KL over the disruption.

LRT train services were also disrupted yesterday, 7 November

According to Free Malaysia Today, the same issues resurfaced again despite numerous rounds of remedial action and fixes done by the engineering and technical teams, on Saturday, 6 November.

Rapid KL has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
