A 19-month-old toddler from Tanah Merah, Kelantan, has been reported missing for over 36 hours
According to Buletin TV3, Hud Aryan Mohd Nor Hafifi was discovered missing from his grandmother's home in Kampung Air Kuala Tiga around 7pm on Monday, 24 February.
The Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Station initiated a search and rescue (SAR) operation to locate the missing child at 8pm the same day.
Authorities believe that the child may have fallen into a ditch or wandered into the forest surrounding the home
Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Zulkifli Osman said 20 personnel from the station, in cooperation with the police, Civil Defence Force, and two detection dogs from the K9 Unit, joined the SAR the following day.
The search, covering a two-kilometer radius around the home, has so far yielded no significant leads.
The SAR resumed at 9am today, 26 February.
The toddler's aunt, Azean Irdawaty Ramley, mentioned that Hud had just been fed by his mother on Monday night and was being visited by another relative when they realised he was missing
"Coincidentally, a relative came to the house, and while chatting, they asked where Hud was. That was when we realised Hud was missing.
"His mother found that the house gate was also open, and the situation became chaotic as we searched around the drain in front of the house and the surrounding forest," she told Harian Metro.
Azean added that her nephew had only recently learned to walk and was quite active, with a particular fondness for playing with water, which led them to believe Hud had wandered towards the drain.
"We are extremely worried about Hud, especially his mother, as he is her only child, and the search is still ongoing," she said.
