Two military personnel were killed following an explosion during a training exercise at the Hobart Camp shooting range in Gurun, Kedah, today, 16 June
According to Bernama, the victims, a male and a female service member, succumbed to their injuries while being transported to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani.
Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan confirmed the incident, saying police received a report about the case at 12.30pm.
The circumstances surrounding the explosion, as well as the type of training being conducted, have yet to be officially disclosed.
The Ministry of Defence is expected to issue an official statement on the incident soon.
