3 Babysitters At A Childcare Centre Allegedly Abused A 4-Month-Old Baby Into Coma

The police in Terengganu have arrested three women for allegedly physically abusing a four-month-old baby at a childcare centre in Batu Buruk
The three women, aged 22 to 33, are babysitters at the centre.
They were arrested yesterday, 9 January, after the child's father lodged a police report last Wednesday, 4 January, when he went to pick up his son from the centre and found that he was weak and in pain.
According to Terengganu police chief Datuk Rohaimi Md Isa, the child's father, who is a medical officer, took the baby to a hospital for examination and the results showed there were blood clots in the boy's head.
The baby has been in a coma at the hospital since last week
He is being treated in the children's intensive care unit at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera showed the boy being shaken, hit on the head, and slapped, New Straits Times reported Rohaimi as saying during a press conference today, 10 January.

Police will obtain an order to remand the three women today
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which carries a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisonment for a period not exceeding 20 years, or both, upon conviction.
