34-Year-Old Man Arrested For Molesting 8-Month Pregnant Woman In Her Own Home
Initial investigations revealed that the man is married and has been stalking her for some time.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and molesting an eight-month pregnant woman in Batu Gajah, Perak on Monday, 28 September
According to New Straits Times, Batu Gajah district police chief ACP Ahmad Adnan Basrithe said the incident occurred at the victim's own home in Taman Pusing Utusan, Pusing at 8am as she was just about to leave the house.
The 27-year-old woman told the police that she was opening her door grille to exit her home when a stranger rushed towards her, grabbed her wrists, and covered her mouth with his hands
She claimed that the man told her to keep her mouth shut while forcefully pushing her back into the house and caused her to fall onto her side.
The assaulter only let her go after she begged and told him that she was pregnant.
"Before he left, he asked the woman about her husband and who she lives with, but the victim remained silent. He only left after the victim's neighbour emerged outside," said the police chief.
"The victim later went to Batu Gajah Hospital for a check-up. Her wrists were swollen, but she and the baby are safe," he said.
After the victim lodged the police report, the man was found and detained at 4.40pm on the very same day
Initial investigations revealed that the man, who is married, had been stalking the victim for some time, and even rented a house in the same neighbourhood.
"The man has no criminal record and he is being remanded for three days," said Ahmad Adnan.
The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty.
