66-Year-Old Auntie Found Blindfolded And Hands Bound With Tape After Robbery In Rawang
Two suspects - a man and a woman - had offered her a ride home after her doctor's appointment.
An elderly woman recently fell victim to a robbery in Rawang
Harian Metro reported that the 66-year-old was found at a cemetery in Taman Setia, Rawang on Monday, 22 July.
Video footage showed that the elderly woman was left with her eyes blindfolded and hands bound with tape after she was robbed
It is believed that the incident took place at 10.45am at Klinik Kesihatan Rawang.
According to Harian Metro, four suspects had offered the victim a ride while she was waiting at a bus stop in front of the clinic after her medical check-up.
A video of her rescue has since made its rounds on social media.
"She was invited by two suspects - a man and a woman - who offered to send her home," Gombak district police chief ACP Samsor Maarof said, according to Bernama.
"There were two other suspects in the same car and the victim was brought to a nearby eatery before being robbed."
The woman was robbed of her two gold earrings, RM110 in cash, and medicine she had just received from her doctor's visit, which totalled to approximately RM3,000
She was then dumped at the Indian cemetery. Thankfully, it was reported that the victim was left unharmed.
Police are currently searching for the suspects. The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang-robbery.
