8-Year-Old Girl Dies, Boy, 10, Critically Injured After Fall From Johor Apartment

An eight-year-old girl died while a 10-year-old boy is critically injured after both fell from a high-rise apartment building in Johor Bahru yesterday morning, 7 June

The incident occurred at about 7.59am at Pangsapuri Dwi Aliff Avenue in Tampoi.

According to the New Straits Times, the two children fell from an upper floor of the residential complex and landed on a lower level near the swimming pool area.

The girl succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to hospital.

The boy was taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Johor Bahru North police chief Assistant Commissioner Radin Ramlan Radin Taha confirmed the incident when contacted by the media.

However, he declined to provide further details, saying an official statement would be issued later.

Residents described chaotic moments after the incident

Several residents who claimed to have witnessed the aftermath shared their accounts on social media.

One resident said she and her family were near the swimming pool when they heard a loud impact and saw the young girl lying motionless on the ground, prompting nearby residents to call for help and contact emergency services.

She also claimed that moments later, another loud sound was heard, and the boy was discovered injured at the scene.

Several residents reportedly rushed to assist the children while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.
