The rollout of the Cloud-Based Clinical Management System (CCMS) at government health clinics has significantly reduced waiting times, with 81% of patients now seeing a doctor within 60 minutes
According to the New Straits Times, Deputy Health Minister Hanifah Hajar Taib told the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday, 8 July, that the Ministry of Health's electronic medical record system has improved the efficiency of healthcare services at government clinics.
She said latest monitoring data showed that 81% of patients are now seen by a medical officer within an hour, while the remaining patients are attended to within 90 minutes, depending on the severity of their condition and the clinic's workload.
Previously, waiting times at some government clinics could stretch to as long as three hours, she added.

Hanifah said MySejahtera has also allowed people to book appointments for 18 types of services at government health and dental clinics ahead of time, with more than 29 million appointment bookings recorded to date
The app has also integrated vaccination records for around 30 million people, along with 12 million medication prescription records, five million dental records, five million health screening records, and one million clinic visit summaries.
"This initiative facilitates access to health records, speeds up treatment, and improves continuity of care between healthcare facilities," she said.
Hanifah was responding to Temerloh MP Salamiah Mohd Nor, who asked about the effectiveness of digitalisation initiatives in reducing congestion at government hospitals.
Looking ahead, Hanifah said the Health Ministry plans to expand its digital management systems to 2,917 health clinics and 728 government dental clinics nationwide by 2028
She added that MySejahtera is also being integrated with CCMS, allowing healthcare providers to access the health records of about 30 million Malaysians to improve patient care.
