A Man Lost His Arm After He Fell Asleep With It Hanging Out Of A Bus Window

A video of him screaming in pain after the accident has since gone viral.

On Saturday, 17 November, a man napping on a bus lost his right arm after he left it hanging out of the window

According to Inquirer.net, a report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the man as 29-year-old Daniel Malapit.

Aqu Si Val Coe, who was also on the bus, said that the incident happened at 9:30am along EDSA-Kamuning in Quezon City, Philippines.

The victim's arm was severed after the bus he was on veered to the right and collided with the rear left corner of an incoming bus

Soon after the accident, the rescue team from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) arrived to provide the man with first aid.

He was then sent to the East Avenue Medical Center for emergency treatment, Bombo Radyo reported.

Netizens took to social media to express their shock and concern. 

"The rescue [team] takes so long [to arrive], I pity him, he keeps crying," wrote Amor Eli Tejome Sulat.

"It's true what our parents said when we were kids that we shouldn't put our hands outside [a moving vehicle] while on the road, especially in a jeep or a bus," another netizen commented, according to Coconuts Manila.
