The iconic A&W outlet in Section 52, Petaling Jaya is in the spotlight once again for a heartwarming reason

On 20 July, Twitter user @OhhB_ shared a photo of two staff at the A&W outlet.

"A&W Petaling Jaya has gained my respect for hiring hearing impaired and senior citizens. It not only makes this a family-oriented environment but it also gives these staff a chance to feel wanted and respected," the tweet said.

"It was nice seeing them communicate thru sign language! Salute!"

The tweet has since received over 2,900 retweets and 3,000 shares, with many netizens praising A&W for its hiring practices

"We need more of this. Giving the needed (sic) the chance as well," said one netizen.

Another netizen remarked that stepping into A&W was like stepping back into the 90s.
"Cashier is a bit slow but that's not a problem. I feel proud for him when he punches in the right order," the netizen added.

"Yup. Senior citizens have been leading the kitchen and prep stations from before," a netizen shared.

Meanwhile, other netizens also used the opportunity to share about other food and beverage outlets that employ the elderly and differently-abled

Some of the places that were named included:
- A&W Overhead Bridge Restaurant in Sungai Buloh, Selangor,
- McDonald's in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, and
- KFC in Tanjung Aru, Sabah.

A&W Malaysia should be proud to join a list of businesses that prioritise people with different needs:
