Bankrupt Man From Negeri Sembilan Is Given A New Life After Winning A RM5 Million Jackpot
He went bankrupt six years ago after taking a loan to pay for his medical bills.
An unemployed man who went bankrupt six years ago was given a second chance in life after striking a RM5 million jackpot from Sports Toto recently
According to New Straits Times, the 45-year-old man from Negeri Sembilan said the windfall has given him a fresh start.
"I had to take a loan to do my heart surgery six years ago and I went bankrupt after I stopped working," he said
"God has given me a second chance by winning the jackpot so that I can have a fresh start."
His winning numbers were 5952 and 5777
The man bought a System 3 ticket on the numbers on 28 February. He won RM5,054,618.40 from the ticket, as well as an additional prize amounting to RM336.
The lucky punter said he will donate part of the winnings to charitable bodies after obtaining a discharge from bankruptcy.
Meanwhile, two other winners from Sarawak and Johor respectively brought home a total of RM7.5 million
The lucky punter from Sarawak is a 41-year-old teacher. He won RM5,054,618.40 after spending RM2 on a Toto 4D Jackpot ticket on the last day of February as well.
His winning numbers were 5777 and 8135, which included a combination of his old licence plate.
"I have stopped driving the old car, but I would still bet on its registration number. I am very grateful that this old car (registration number) still brings me luck after all these years," he said.
"My family was very happy when they heard about the great news last night. We plan to save the winnings for our children's education expenses."
As for the winner from Johor, he is a 69-year-old retiree. He bought a System 3 ticket on 2 March and won RM2,540,741.40.
His winning numbers were 2888 and 5015, which he claimed are numbers he found in a flyer given to him.
