Construction workers in Dendermonde, Belgium have discovered a hidden gold trove worth over 9 million euros (RM46.3 million) during building work
The discovery was made while the crew was digging to lay sewer pipes in the basement of a house.
While carrying out the work, builders found roughly 50 gold bars and piles of gold coins hidden inside the cellar walls.
One worker, identified as Kobe, said the crew was stunned by the discovery.
He noted that nobody expected to find gold while carrying out what was supposed to be routine work laying sewer pipes.

Recognising the value of the find, the workers immediately contacted the police
Officers arrived at the scene to count the gold bars and coins before transporting them to a federal government vault for safekeeping.
The police department later shared pictures of the haul on social media and even changed its Facebook profile picture to a gold coin to mark the discovery.
News of the find spread fast across social media, prompting police to issue a warning
Authorities told curious treasure hunters to stay away from the fenced-off work site.
Officers stressed that visiting the property was pointless as the gold had already been moved to a secure location under heavy security.

It remains unclear who will legally own the multi-million ringgit hoard
Officials have not confirmed whether the charity that owns the site, the workers, or the government will ultimately get to keep the treasure.
For now, local police said they hope the fortune ends up in the right hands.
