A burst underground pipe along Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya caused a sinkhole large enough to swallow a car, back up traffic, and cut off the water supply in the area

According to Sin Chew Daily, water flooded and covered the entire surface of the road yesterday morning, 2 October, causing an unsuspecting driver to drive right into the hole.

The vehicle was damaged but no injuries were reported.

The location of the sinkhole was in front of Sin Chew Daily's office.

Residents in Section 17 and Section 19 have been left without water supply since the incident.

However, Air Selangor could not say when the water supply will resume.

Residents were left with dry taps as Air Selangor cut off the water flow to repair the leak. The affected households were still without water as of 8pm yesterday.

According to The Star, they have also yet to determine the cause of the incident.
