Selangor residents can check their eligibility for the RM100 monthly cash aid starting today, 23 June
According to Berita Harian, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said RM30 million has been allocated for the Selangor Kita Voucher (or Baucar Kita Selangor) programme, which aims to benefit 50,000 low-income families.
Eligible recipients will receive RM100 monthly for six months, totalling RM600, to help alleviate the rising cost of living caused by the global energy supply crisis.
Amirudin said single mothers who work to support their children and earn less than RM5,000 a month will also be eligible to receive the cash aid.
Eligible recipients will receive an SMS starting today, allowing them to verify their information and submit applications through the Baucar Kita Selangor website
Amirudin added that the cash assistance is a short-term measure that will be complemented by a broader empowerment framework aimed at helping people become more self-reliant and less dependent on government aid in the long run.
