The Road Transport Department (JPJ) recently seized seven luxury vehicles driven by foreign nationals, including Chinese, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi citizens
According to the New Straits Times, one of the vehicles seized was a BMW 7 Series driven by a man carrying a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) card.
The man, in his 30s, was stopped while driving the luxury sedan, which was decorated with ribbons and reportedly being prepared for use in a wedding ceremony.
Negeri Sembilan JPJ director Jasyindar Singh Sidhu said that of 870 vehicles inspected, 145 were seized, including several luxury models such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota Alphard, Lexus, and a BMW limousine.
He said the ongoing operation, which began earlier this year, is aimed at ensuring compliance with vehicle road tax requirements, insurance validity, and the use of valid driving licences.

Jasyindar added that JPJ also targets unauthorised vehicle modifications and other offences under the Road Transport Act 1987
Some of the drivers stopped during the operation were also found to be without valid driving licences, reported The Star.
Jasyindar said the department will continue carrying out such operations to ensure vehicle owners comply with the law.
"The state JPJ will increase the frequency and intensity of enforcement operations, particularly involving luxury vehicles, through patrols, roadblocks and technical inspections to ensure that compliance with road traffic laws remains at the highest level," he said.
He also reminded luxury vehicles owners that the value or status of their cars does not exempt them from legal action.
