The issue came to light after the father found bruises on his son's shoulder and both eyes upon picking him up from the centre

Mohamad Farouk said that a teacher told the father that the red mark on the side of his son's forehead was due to the child hitting his own head on the table.

After noticing the injuries on his son, the boy's father demanded to view closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the daycare and found that the suspect had acted violently when the boy refused to eat his meal.

Further investigation then found that the 51-year-old suspect was the manager of the premises and she employed three local workers, who were also at the scene.

Including the victim, there are seven autistic children under the woman's care at the daycare centre.

Police also found that the centre has been operating for seven years but its licence has expired.

The woman will be remanded until Tuesday, 5 October, to assist in the investigations under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect as well as Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act 1952 for overstaying and having an expired social pass.
