A 41-year-old Malaysian paediatrician practising in Perth, Australia, is facing 33 child sex-related charges involving at least nine alleged victims
The charges come after an expanded police investigation uncovered a wider web of alleged offences.
Dr Saw Chia Liang was initially arrested on 29 May 2026.
According to Australian news website WAtoday, at the time, he faced only two charges, including possessing child exploitation material.
Court proceedings also revealed that a hidden camera in a Perth examination room allegedly captured some of the offending.
Prosecutors allege that at least one victim was his patient.

Saw, who worked across West Leederville, Wembley, Nedlands, and Midland as a consultant developmental paediatrician, also served as a clinical lecturer at Curtin University and worked at several St John of God hospitals.
He also allegedly attempted to procure a child for sexual activity.
According to prosecutors, some of the alleged offences occurred inside the hospital rooms where he practised, with the incidents allegedly taking place between November 2022 and May 2026.
His medical registration has since been suspended by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
Dr Saw appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court and is being remanded in custody at Hakea Prison.
His lawyer is expected to launch a bail application later this month and he is expected to return to the Magistrates Court on 30 June 2026.
