A doctor discovered a whole family of cockroaches in the man's ear

According to New York Post, Dr Zhong Yijin, an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist treated the man and found one adult cockroach along with over 10 other newly-hatched offspring.

He said, "The patient said his ear hurt a lot, like something was scratching or crawling inside. I found 10 baby cockroaches inside."

"They were already running around," the doctor added.

Dr Yijin removed the baby insects, including their larger mother, from the man's ear using a pair of tweezers.

The man sustained minor injuries to his right ear canal from the incident.

He was discharged on the same day and prescribed with ointment for his ear.

The patient admitted that he has a habit of leaving unfinished food packets near his bed, which explains how he could possibly have attracted the pests.

It is learned that the insects were of the German cockroach species Blattella germanica. Experts say that typically, the German (blattella germanica) cockroach's egg case contains 30 to 40 eggs.
