Dr Noor Hisham's Son Is 1 Of The 3 Perdana Fellows To Be Placed Under MOF
Three young Malaysians have been selected to join the Ministry of Finance under the Perdana Fellowship to gain national governance experience.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham's son has been awarded the Perdana Fellowship under the Ministry of Finance (MOF)
In a Facebook post yesterday, 9 July, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Aziz announced that three youths will be joining his ministry under the Perdana Fellowship.
Among them is Muhammad Khair Noor Hisham - Dr Noor Hisham's son - from Sheffield Hallam University, as well as Chow Shenn Kuan from Sunway University and Am Abdul Aziz from University of Nottingham Malaysia.
"Our youth are among the most important stakeholders in nation-building. They are the ones who will guide our future generations toward building a better Malaysia," said Tengku Zafrul.
"My warm welcome to three Perdana Fellows [...] to MOF. I hope that you will gain meaningful experiences during your time here."
The Perdana Fellowship was established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2013
It was set up to provide young Malaysians the first-hand experience in matters of national governance, according to its official website.
"Under this programme, Perdana Fellows are placed under the purview of Ministers of various Ministries to assist in the highest form of governance," it said.
"Upon completion of the fellowship, fellows become a member of the Perdana Fellows Alumni Association (PFAA), which continues the culture of fostering a close network between youth leaders and government, corporate, and non-governmental organisation (NGO) leaders."
This year, 82 youths - comprising 58 graduates and 24 undergraduates - were chosen for the programme, reported Bernama.
Four fellows were placed under Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's purview.
Meanwhile on Facebook, Malaysians flooded Tengku Zafrul's post after finding out Muhammad Khair is Dr Noor Hisham's son
Hundreds of netizens took the opportunity to congratulate Muhammad Khair and other participants for receiving the fellowship.
"Congratulations to these great young people. (Muhammad Khair) is as great as his dad Dr Noor Hisham. Your mum must be proud! Wishing you greater success in the future," commented a Facebook user."Good job! Looking at the youths' achievements gives us confidence in the future. It is not because he is the son of Dr Noor Hisham, but because he is a capable person. Congratulations!" said a person.
"Congratulations, young people. Continue to drive the development of Malaysia's economy with sifu Tengku Zafrul," added another netizen.
