However, he has been uncontactable since yesterday, 21 November.
Mohamad Edi Mohamad Rias, also known as "Edi Rejang", now has job offers lined up for him after he was reportedly fired from his last job for harassing a beer promoter
Malay Mail reported Kepong Member of Parliament (MP) Lim Lip Eng as saying that there are job offers waiting for Edi after he lost his job over the controversy. A few people also offered Edi financial aid.
"Some of them have approached my office, and left comments on my Facebook page stating they were willing to offer Edi a job or assist him financially," he told Malay Mail today, 22 November.
However, Edi has been unreachable since his public apology yesterday
According to Lim, Edi has turned off his mobile phone since yesterday. As a result, all offers for him have been put on hold.
"If he does not want to help himself, how does he expect people to help him?" Lim was quoted as saying by Malay Mail.
Edi did not show up at the police station today, where he was supposed to have his statement taken
He was supposed to turn up at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters today to give his statement regarding the incident. He is currently being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, according to New Straits Times.
Section 509 of the Penal Code lists offences involving words or gestures used to intentionally insult the modesty of a person. If convicted, Edi face a maximum of five years in jail, a fine, or both.
Meanwhile, Edi's wife revealed that he was taken away by an unknown person last night
Guang Ming Daily reported that Edi was allegedly taken away at around 7pm last night, and has not returned home since.
According to a DAP volunteer lawyer KA Ramu, Edi met the police yesterday without informing anyone.
