Parents will soon be able to access school information through a centralised online portal, making it easier for them to find suitable schools for their children
Launched at SK Damansara Utama today, 3 November, the Sekolahku portal was developed through a collaboration between the Education Ministry and the Digital Ministry.
According to the New Straits Times, the portal will feature information on more than 10,000 schools nationwide.
It will allow users to search for schools by location and view their profiles, statistics, and other information.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said the portal would save parents from having to visit individual schools or contact district education departments to obtain information
"Before this, parents may have had to refer to various sources to obtain information on schools," he said.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the portal also addresses common concerns among parents, such as whether schools have vacancies or are already overcrowded.
She added that it would be particularly useful for parents preparing to send their children to Form One.
Through the portal, parents can identify schools near their homes, explore boarding school options, check whether schools offer special programmes, and find out how to get to their preferred schools.
"Students could also use the platform to explore whether they could enrol in their dream schools," she said, reported The Star.

The Digital Ministry handed over the portal to the Education Ministry at the ceremony today
The handover marks the transition to the ownership and operational phase under the Education Ministry, which will oversee information accuracy, data governance, and ongoing improvements to meet users' needs.
It was not announced when the portal would officially open to the public.
