Batu MP's Facebook Livestream On Jalan Ipoh Catches Snatch Theft In Action

The crime took place when Prabakaran was out inspecting the road conditions in his constituency.

A snatch theft in action was caught on a Facebook livestream by Batu Member of Parliament (MP) Prabakaran Parameswaran while he was out inspecting the condition of Jalan Ipoh in his constituency

According to a Malaysiakini report, the Batu parliamentarian, accompanied by his team members, was speaking with the locals when a motorcyclist rode by and snatched a man's gold chain.

The victim said that he felt a hand on his shoulder right before the motorcyclist grabbed his chain and fled away, the report stated, adding that the crime took place on Tuesday, 4 February.

After having witnessed a crime take place in front of his eyes, the parliamentarian has asked the police to increase patrols in the area

The 23-year-old MP also said that the Facebook live footage has been handed over to the police.

"Additionally, a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera on the street will also be used to track down the suspect. I was at the scene of the incident and will testify," he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
