3 Teens Electrocuted After Flagpole Hits Power Line During Procession In Kedah

As thousands gathered along the main road in Mergong, a flag carried by the youths came into contact with a high-voltage power line.
The incident occurred at approximately 9pm and was reportedly triggered by strong winds and light drizzle, which blew the flag into the live wire.
Following the incident, the three victims were rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) for emergency treatment
Mergong Vegetable Temple Association secretary Chah Boon Chuan confirmed that the youths, aged between 16 and 17, are under close medical observation in the hospital's red zone.
"On the fourth day [of the festival], we usually hold this procession from 8pm to 11pm," Chah explained to reporters outside the HSB Emergency Department, according to Berita Harian.

Chah said he was not present during the incident but was promptly alerted by other procession participants.
"As of now, I do not know their condition as they are still in the red zone," he added.
