JB Woman Finds Fly Eggs In Beef Soup She Bought At Ramadan Bazaar In Melaka

A woman claimed that a beef soup she bought at a Ramadan bazaar in Melaka on Wednesday evening, 13 March, was infested with fly eggs
The woman, who is from Johor Bahru, took to Facebook to express her disappointment over the food she bought from Semabok Ramadan Bazaar, according to the New Straits Times.
She said that she had stopped by the bazaar to purchase food for iftar, and after returning home, she noticed that there were fly eggs in her beef soup.
She said her intention in expressing her disappointment was not to embarrass the seller, but to caution others to be careful so that such incidents can be avoided in the future.
"Is this what they call delicious? The beef smelled bad and it made me very upset and disappointed. Please, anyone who sees my post, convey my regards to the seller. We'll meet in the afterlife," she wrote.
The woman further alleged that the seller pressured her into buying two containers and gave her an empty bowl of soup without beef
"I [paid him] RM10 [for beef soup] but this uncle told me that his meat soup was delicious and asked me to take two containers even though it was only for me," the New Straits Times quoted her as saying.
The customer's post went viral, with the seller subsequently apologising
The seller acknowledged the misunderstanding and reiterated his consistent pricing of RM10 for all beef soups.
He further clarified that an additional packet of soup is provided for free to ensure sufficient quantity. He also apologised for the presence of fly eggs, attributing it to an oversight due to the open space.
"We will ensure that our food is as clean as possible.. and we will maintain the quality of our food," he said.
