A 15-year-old student in Kuala Lumpur suddenly collapsed and died on their first day back at school

Schools across Malaysia started reopening in stages for students starting today, July 15, as per the Ministry of Education's orders.

Meanwhile, Sinar Harian reported via an unnamed source that a Form Three student suddenly collapsed and died while at SMK Seri Mulia in Bandar Tun Razak.

According to Wilayahku, Federal Territory Education Department director Maznah Abu Bakar confirmed the incident and has visited the deceased's family.

Furthermore, the school noted that the student's body temperature did not indicate a fever or any other abnormalities during health checks.

The teen was sent to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead

Cheras District police chief ACP Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon told Sinar Harian that an autopsy is still being carried out at the hospital.

"Further investigations will be carried out to identify the cause of death but for now, the case is classified as sudden death," he said.
