Netizens are flocking to Arisara Karbdecho's social media accounts to convey their condolences after learning that the Internet celebrity has passed away in a hospital yesterday, 6 June

Citing Khaosod Online, Oriental Daily reported that the 27-year-old Thai did not update her social media since March.

Thus, a concerned friend of Karbdecho reached out to her family and learnt that she was suspected to have choked while eating two months ago.

Her throat was believed to be stuck with food, causing her to suffer from suffocation.

She was on life support in the hospital for two months. Unfortunately, she drew her last breath at 12.50pm yesterday.

Karbdecho's sister reportedly confirmed her passing and her body was brought to Wat Bua Khwan temple for her relatives and friends to pay their respects.

According to a Facebook post shared by a friend of Karbdecho, the wake will be held until 10 June and the funeral will be conducted on 11 June.

Karbdecho's Instagram and Facebook accounts have over 1.5 million and one million followers, respectively

Known to her fans as Alice, she went viral on the Internet in 2016 for wearing Pokémon T-shirts. Since then, she had cosplayed many anime and video game characters.

In 2015, she was challenged by Shane Thana, the owner of supplement and functional food company Amado Thailand, to lose 10kg in three weeks and receive THB1 million (about RM127,530).

Coconuts Bangkok reported that the challenge was driven by men who felt cheated upon realising she was bigger in size than they thought.

Without any medical supervision, Karbdecho's weight dropped from 65kg to 58kg in 22 days, reported Taiwanese commercial television broadcasting company TVBS.

At the time of writing, her last Instagram post on her @alicebambam account has garnered over 2,000 comments.

Thousands of netizens wished Karbdecho to rest in peace.
