"Red shirts" rally mouthpiece Jamal Md Yunos is becoming synonymous with rallies in Malaysia.

After 'spearheading' the Malaysia Day rally that ended messily with chemical-laced water cannons and scuffles with the authorities, Jamal is set to organise the 'Selamatkan Negeri Selangor daripada Kerajaan Pakatan Cacamarba' (Save Selangor from haphazard Pakatan government) rally in Ampang this Sunday, 18 October.

Jamal, has been garnering a lot of attention from the media after the "red shirts" rally that was held on Malaysia Day which saw its protesters carrying racially-charged placards and banners

What does Jamal want to rescue Selangorians from?

Jamal has highlighted two main problems that the current opposition led Selangor government has failed to solve; dengue epidemic and water cuts issue

“This rally is important because the Selangor state government is cruel to the people,” he said.

“Due to the dengue virus, we’re living in fear. Selangor is the most outstanding state when it comes to dengue. Congratulations.”

"After this, we will hold another in Kelana Jaya and Subang... the roadshow around Selangor will be held for six months before we hold a rally with thousands of people," Jamal told reporters in front of the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters today.

Last month, Jamal was arrested under sedition charges after he threatened to hold a rally in Petaling Street and cause a riot there

According to Jamal, the rally was to urge the police to take action against the Petaling Street traders that have been selling pirated and counterfeit products.

Following his arrest, Jamal vowed to hold another rally in Kajang on 11 October, to protest against its assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail that has been "distracted" from fulfilling her duties to the rakyat

He claimed she has been distracted from her role as an assemblyman as she was “a loyal wife” and has to tend to issues with her jailed husband Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s illnesses.

“She has to manage her husband who is purportedly sick. We know that Wan Azizah is a loyal wife. Very loyal. But she has forgotten that she bears the people’s trust,” he said.

He reportedly claimed to have met with Kajang residents of various races who told him they felt cheated and disappointed with her service as their elected representative.

Malay Mail Online’s street poll yesterday on Dr Wan Azizah’s performance since taking on additional duties as a federal lawmaker and opposition leader however showed mixed response.

However, the Kajang rally was cancelled by Jamal for unnamed reasons soon after his announcement about it.

This whole fiasco started when Jamal shot to "fame" just days before the Bersih 4.0 rally held in late August, after he organised a "self-defense" demonstration in downtown KL that saw a group of people hitting each other with bricks and logs:

Surprisingly, the BN government that has always been vocal about their rejection of street protests, was instead seen condoning the "red shirts" rally:
