Japan To Put New Barrier Right In Front Of Lawson Store To Block Iconic Mount Fuji View
The barrier was taken down just three months earlier.

Japanese authorities have decided to erect another fence directly in front of the picturesque Lawson convenience store
The convenience store in Fujikawaguchiko, Japan became famous among tourists as an Instagrammable photo spot with Mount Fuji in the backdrop, which led to a series of problems, including jaywalking, littering, trespassing, and more.
In May, the town installed a large black curtain and a protective fence on the opposite side of the road to discourage these behaviours. The measure successfully deterred misbehaving tourists and the fence was subsequently taken down in August.
However, the town has once again decided to block the iconic view after careful consideration and with the cooperation of the convenience store's management, reported the Yomiuri Shimbun.

According to Asahi TV News, the town plans to install two fences, each about 6m wide and 80cm high, along the sidewalk on the side of the convenience store.
The new barrier will reportedly be installed by the end of the year.
This decision comes after a resurgence of disrespectful behaviours from tourists, who were reported to have hurled verbal abuses such as "You're an idiot" and "Die" at stationed staff dispatched by authorities to manage the crowd.
The new fence will be erected directly in front of the Lawson convenience store rather than on the opposite side, as pictured here.
