Johor Senior Citizen Separated From Family In Singapore Dies Alone Inside A Toilet
The man hadn't seen his family in eight months.
An elderly man in Johor Bahru was recently found dead in the toilet of his home
Larkin Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Nordatul Badrol Abd Rahman told Sinar Harian that the man's neighbour called the authorities around 10.44am on Wednesday, 18 November.
A team of 11 firemen were dispatched to the location and found that the man was lying in the toilet unconscious.
The victim has been identified as 77-year-old Er Chiang Seng.
He reportedly lives alone in the two-storey house while the rest of his family is in Singapore.
Utusan Malaysia reported that the man has been separated from his family for over eight months.
The neighbour who reported the incident said that they sensed something was wrong as the man left the back door of his house ajar.
They went inside and found the man's body on the toilet floor before calling for help.
Meanwhile, Johor Bahru South district police chief ACP Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain told Harian Metro, "Initial investigations have led us to believe that the elderly man fell while in the toilet and there were no elements of crime or signs of injury on his body."
Checks by a medical officer from the Sultanah Aminah Hospital confirmed that the man had passed away
Harian Metro also reported that the man's family in Singapore has been informed of the incident and the body has been sent to the hospital for an autopsy.
