KK Man Kills Friend By Slashing His Neck After Being Asked To Return RM300 Loan

On Tuesday, 24 April, at around 1.30pm, a man in Kota Kinabalu murdered his 30-year-old friend by slashing his neck with a parang
According to a report in Berita Harian, the 30-year-old, identified as Fazrin Ibrahim, died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. Fazrin's 11-year-old brother-in-law, who was with him, was also injured in the assault that happened in Jalan Tengah Nipah.
It is believed that the suspect attacked Fazrin from behind while sitting in the back seat of the Perodua Axia, which was being driven by the victim, reported Utusan Online.
Reportedly, the suspect assaulted his friend after being asked to pay back a loan of RM300 that he owed to the victim
Lahad Datu OCPD ACP Hamza Ahmad was quoted by The Star Online saying that the suspect is believed to have killed Fazrin after he bugged him to return an RM300 loan.
According to ACP Hamza, Fazrin was taking his brother-in-law home from school and had stopped to pick up the suspect along the way, reported The Star Online.
Both the suspect and the brother-in-law were seated at the back of the car.
After being attacked, Fazrin and his brother-in-law tried to run but they couldn't get far as Fazrin soon fell on the ground
Passers-by, who heard the 11-year-old's screams for help, came to their aid and took them both to a hospital. However, by the time they reached the hospital, Fazrin, who had suffered a massive slash wound on his neck, was pronounced dead.
The 11-year-old is, meanwhile, being treated for injuries to his hands.
Police are now looking for the suspect, for whom a statewide manhunt has been initiated. They have also registered a case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
