The incidents happened at Taman Berkeley and Bukit Kuda in Klang, Selangor on Saturday, 21 April.
Be careful the next time you return home as there might be potential robbers lurking around.
Two men were caught on camera recently trying to rob two separate families who were returning home late.
Videos of the incidents have gone viral on social media. According to the Facebook post and video time stamps, the robberies took place at Taman Berkeley and Bukit Kuda in Klang, Selangor between 11.26pm and 11.32pm.
At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 40,000 shares on Facebook.
The first attempted armed robbery happened around 11.26pm at Taman Berkeley where a man successfully chased the robbers away with a mop
The 26-second long video recorded from a car dash cam shows one of the men who appeared to threaten the victims with a metal chain while the other man stayed outside on his motorcycle.
The victims could also be heard saying, "Okay" multiple times, presumably to adhere to the robber's requests.
However, a loud bang could be heard a few seconds later before the robber was chased away by one of the victims with a mop.
The suspects then left the scene on separate motorcycles.
Six minutes later, the suspects tried to rob another family in another nearby taman
As the family parked their white sedan in the front porch and were ready to enter their house, the suspects arrived on motorcycles in front of their house gate.
Within seconds, the children quickly got back into the car before the robber could reach to them.
The suspect then used what looked like a metal chain to smash the car window before he tried grabbing the victims' belongings seconds later.
However, he failed to do so as the white car sped off and the robbers were left empty-handed.
Police have confirmed that three suspects have been arrested today, 24 April, and will be remanded for four days for further investigation
According to The Star, Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said two of the suspects, who are in their 30s, had past records for robbery and drug offences.
"We detained three men, including two seen in the videos. The third is the owner of the motorcycles used by the two robbers," he was quoted as saying.
He also believed that the duo was involved in two other reported robberies over the weekend.
