In a video of a conversation with ground control, the pilot can be heard asking if he could do a turn-around back to the airport.

"May God be with us. Can we come back or what?" he said.

"This flight is requesting to come back...a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing," an air traffic controller can be heard saying.

After scrambling to confirm the appropriate protocol, a surprised ATC operator then gave the pilot permission to return.

"This is totally a new one for us!" he said.
