KL Florist Slammed For Posting Anti-LGBT Job Vacancy Ad

Netizens criticised the ad for being discriminatory.

A florist based in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur recently announced on Twitter they were looking for a sales representative

On Wednesday, 25 September, they tweeted, "If you're an awesome sales representative who wants to make great money, do apply! Come work with us, we're a growing company offering great benefits!"

On the poster, the third criterion listed was 'No LGBT'

Netizens criticised the ad, saying that the policy is discriminatory

One person wrote, "I'm really disappointed with [them]. I have been following them for years because of quality service. When people say discrimination against LGBT doesn't exist, this is the example."

"Wow, no LGBT. Didn't know a company would be so invested in an employee's life like that. Then, they wrote 'willing to learn' but before anything, they are not willing to learn and accept someone's choice in life," said another netizen.

A Twitter user said, "I think they lack in the 'easy to communicate', 'able to work in a team', and 'willing to learn' department with their display of anti-LGBT. (sic) Great benefits of discrimination and ignorance."

Following the backlash, the account took down their tweet and have yet to put up a new ad.

SAYS reached out to them for a comment but has yet to receive a response.
