KL Teen's Disappearance And Return Raises Questions. She Claims Can't Recall What Happened
According to the mother, the 18-year-old does not recall much of what happened.
A teenage girl, who was reported missing by her mother yesterday evening, 30 September, has been found safe in the Pelangi Damansara area this morning, 1 October, according to the police
Gya Natasya Abdullah's mother, Johan Nazira Mohamed Nazib, filed a police report last night after Gya left their home in Taman Matang Jaya, Sungai Buloh, to go to work in Cheras but did not return.
The 18-year-old had been unreachable by her mother since yesterday afternoon.
However, earlier this morning, Johan Nazira informed the police that her daughter has safely returned home, as confirmed by Sungai Buloh district police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor.
"As of now, the mother has yet to come to the police station to officially report that her daughter has been found," Mohd Hafiz was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
So, what happened?
Before she was reported missing, Gya, who was headed home and was supposed to reached the Sungai Buloh MRT station, disembarked at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail station due to a stomach ache.
"She went to the restroom. After that, she felt like having cookies, so she left the station to look for some," Nazira said, adding that Gya took a Grab to return to the MRT station.
It was at this point that Gya realised her mobile phone was missing.
According to Berita Harian, Gya tried calling her phone, but the call was rejected. However, it is unclear whose phone she used to make the call.
"She asked the Grab driver to wait for her while she searched for her phone, but the driver suddenly left," the mother was quoted as saying.
Later, a black car approached Gya, with two men and a woman offering assistance. She accepted their help and entered the vehicle.
She was dropped off at a dark, deserted shop lot in the Damansara area early this morning.
According to her mother, Gya does not recall much of what happened.
"She said she couldn't remember anything, but when she regained her senses, she found herself suddenly being told to get out of the car in a dark, empty area," Nazira said, adding that Gya then walked around seeking help and eventually found a woman in Pelangi Damansara who lent her a mobile phone to contact her mother.
