Malaysia Airports has standardised the e-hailing entry fee at KL International Airport (KLIA) at RM2, inclusive of tax, across both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
The new rate took effect on 16 September 2026, giving e-hailing drivers a single entry fee regardless of which terminal they're picking up passengers from.
Previously, the entry fee was RM3 at Terminal 1 and RM2.16 at Terminal 2.

This means the new RM2 rate is a reduction from the previous charges at both terminals
Malaysia Airports said the standardisation is intended to provide greater consistency and clarity for passengers and e-hailing operators, while supporting a more streamlined pick-up experience across KLIA.
Meanwhile, KLIA Terminal 1 has seen improvements to its e-hailing operations
The airport introduced enhanced e-hailing facilities in August 2026, including a dedicated indoor passenger waiting area and a more structured pick-up system.
Within one month of the improvements, 99.3% of e-hailing drivers were completing passenger pick-ups and exiting within the allocated 10-minute grace period, up from 49.4% previously.
The number of vehicles entering the pick-up lanes each day also fell by 13.5%, from 8,124 to 7,024 vehicles.
According to Malaysia Airports, the changes have helped reduce unauthorised activity, unnecessary vehicle circulation, and prolonged idling around the pick-up area.
Peak-hour processing capacity has also increased from 302 to up to 660 vehicles per hour, allowing vehicles to move through the pick-up area more quickly during busy arrival periods.

The upgraded facilities include indoor waiting areas and live vehicle monitoring
The enhanced Terminal 1 e-hailing facilities include a Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) system integrated with Passenger Information Display Screens (PIDS), self-service kiosks, dedicated passenger waiting areas, structured pick-up bays, and on-ground marshals.
The system also enables stricter monitoring and access control, ensuring that only authorised e-hailing vehicles use the designated pick-up facilities.
E-hailing vehicles will continue to have a maximum of 10 minutes at the kerbside pick-up area to help keep the bays moving and improve traffic circulation.
Abd Hasman Abd Muhimin, senior general manager for Passenger Experience at KLIA, said the airport's e-hailing improvements are aimed at making the journey to and from the airport more efficient.

"At KLIA, every part of the passenger journey matters, including the experience of getting to and from the airport. By providing passengers with a comfortable indoor space to wait and giving drivers clearer timeframes, we are seeing better compliance, faster vehicle turnover and improved traffic flow."
The RM2 standardised entry fee is now in effect at both KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
